Thinking a Mnandi might be a good add to my EDC's.
I have a Small Insingo Micarta and wondering if I could fit it in. Would it be too small to for me? I have small hand, so......

The Insingo is great, but there is always room for more.:) Thanks!

If you have already made up your mind, just go for it. The mnandi is an excellent little knife and can be had with some really nice inlays. I spent a lot of time before pulling the trigger. I got mammoth bark so the price was steep. It is a beautiful blade and very well made. However, it is just a little too small for me to carry regularly and I worry that it will slip out of my pocket without notice if I don't clip it or use the pocket sheath. I, too, have medium hands, and the knife fits perfectly... just generally a bit small for me personally. The size is still definitely handy but the small sebenza is going to do everything you need. If I go with the mnandi, I would feel compelled to carry another knife. Of course, I'm the same way with the small sebenza (and the Grayman Satu or Strider SMF for that matter).

It's a cool knife.
IMHO it's not that much smaller than a sm. Sebie.
The blade is thinner and that makes it lighter.
It's nice to fondle and does not intimidate people.
It does most of the daily cutting tasks.

Thank you MMAR for the picture. :o Could I be so bold as to ask for an "opened" shot?

Thank you wild and red. I am still on the fence about the Mnandi, you see I've had small knives that were just too thin and/or narrow to handle effectively. I was also looking at a WH, but no, they are too "nice", would be afraid to scratch the pretty blade.

You know I don't have a Small 21??.:D

Mr. Wing--I am sorry, but that's the only shot I have of the Mnandi and small Seb together. I would take more, but sadly--I do not have the Mnandi anymore. I have had several, but eventually they got sold or traded for other small Sebs.

I can take some pics when I get home, but the Mnandi is quite a bit smaller overall. It is shorter and more narrow, and lighter too. You don't even notice when you are carrying it. I have and carry both, you really need to try it out and see if it suits you! I would get one off the exchange and then if you don't like it then resell it for a minimal loss:)
In case you were wondering about its capabilities...... It will handle All of your urban carry needs with no problems:thumbup:

Could someone please post side by sides of Mnandi and Umfaans? That would be cool, open and closed, Bart

Lets just say the mnandi is about 2/3 the size of a small seb.

I can post pixs later when I get home.

I would carry it daily if crk made a proper pouch for it. Seems they just send pouch for small seb, but too large for mnandi as it keeps falling out of pouch.

Mnandi is smaller, but not exactly smaller enough to merit CRK going out of its way to commission another smaller sized sheath... I think you can wet mold the provided sheath it if you really want to. There are also tons of nicer aftermarket ones specifically for the mnandi.

That said, I'd love a smaller sheath too, but I carry it in the provided one or clip it to my pockets, what ever I feel like for the day.

I have one and I really like it - but it is small enough that it's a bit of a challenge to open and close one-handed (ironically).

I wet-molded the pouch and retention is excellent - but be careful about wood inlays, especially non-stabilized woods.

Is there a small and large pouch?

Damn. The Mnandi looks good. This thread is going to get me into more buying.

There are small and large pouches. The small is used for both the small Sebenza and the Mnandi. Once the pouch is form-fitted to the Mnandi it works fairly well. I opted to purchase one from sheathmaker (Paul Long) that works exceptionally well. Mine was fabricated to accommodate the clip but he also makes one for those wishing to go clipless.

Thank you so much for the pictures, they tell the story i wanted to know.
A beautiful knife, but the Mnandi is not the knife for me.
I may explore the possibilities of a small wood inlay 21(never owned a 21, or classic).
Thanks!:)

If you have never owned a 21, may I suggest a simple, clean, elegant, and robust small Plain Jane 21 Insingo? You will love it.

I have a small Classic (for this purpose, essentially the same as a 21) with lignum vitae inlays. It is a truly awesome small knife.

Absolutely love my Mnandi Ebony, and it's in my pocket now. Splits time with my 25.

A small insigno is on the list.

I'm with Birch. My Mnandi rides in it's pouch RFP, and my 25 is IWB behind my right hip. Coincidentally, I'm also looking at a small insingo :)

The Mnandi handles itself pretty well opening envelopes and packages, but if there's boxes that need breaking down, or other tasks, the 25 comes out.
