Side play

Just got my first Spyderco, a paramilitary 2. It has quite a bit of side play when locked up and I was wondering if there is any tricks to fixing it. I will send it back if I have to but I sold my EDC to buy the paramilitary, so I would rather try to fix it myself. I have tried to tighten the pivot, it's tight. Is there anything else I can try?
 
I have had this issue before. Its fairly common. Maybe tweak the screws in the back of the handle some too. Unscrew them then tighten up the pivot and then tighten the rest of the screws. And check your stop pin screws. That can make a difference as well. Fiddle with it some. But if all else fails you can send it in.
 
Thank you! That is exactly what I was looking for. I'm at work until 6am but I will try that when I get home in the morning and let you know how it goes.
 
Ok, so I couldnt wait. I ran home on my lunch and got it, took it apart, reassembled it several times torquing in a different pattern and voila! It's fixed! Thanks again man!
