Hello, and thnk you in advance for your comments. I bought a beautiful knife recently (G.E.C. moose) and have discovered that despite the fact that the blade is tight with no wobble when blade is out; when blade is folded there is a the ability to move the blade from one side of its "groove" to the other. It doesn't rattle on its own or anything like that, but it can be "positioned" with ease. Again, when the blade is open it is tight with absolutely no play. I guess I'm wondering if this is normal, or something to be alarmed with which could lead to further problems. Thanks again, Johnny

I see this a lot in almost every brand of knife I have.
I have Buck 110s that do this, GEC #73s, a Queen folding hunter and almost all of my large Case stockman knives. To me, it's not a real problem as long as the knife is tight when it's open.
When I first discovered that my blades would move when closed, I was a little worried that it may cause play, or blade rubbing. But, it's all good and my knives seem just fine.

When you 'reposition' the blade does it come back to true after you let go? If so it may just be blade flex.

Mr. twoshoes, thanks for talking me down off the ledge. I am definately re lieved because I love the knife. Rich, thanks for responding; no it isn't blade flex, it is being able to reposition the blade from one side to the other when closed(play, in te closed position) Thanks again

That seems to be the story with most lockblades I have. They can be solid when opened, but wiggly when closed. It's always irked me somewhat but seems to have little negative influence on the knife's performance.
