Side winder flaw

After flipping my sidewinder <cheap china knife with the black insersts> I have found the flaw in them .After a few weeks of serious use the rubber thing in the latch falls out making a big hole right in the latch causing it to bend and warp and could break off .Has anyone else had this happen ? I fixed mine by pouring a epoxy resin glue in the hole,when it drys it makes the latch a solid piece .

Good point.

The little rubber thing is doomed and once it falls out, the latch (which is, I suspect, Aluminum) will be rather weak. Filling the hole is a great idea.
