Time for something other than the norm. If there is such a thing. A '81 Case "Sidewinder" Lockback. I stick a photo of one in here 'bout once a year or so just to liven things up a tad.

The Case emblem is like a push button. It's what releases the blade from the locking position. They were only made for a few years back in the eighties. The knife measures 5 1/4" closed and came with a pretty decent leather belt pouch/sheath.

Introduced in 1980, discontinued in 1985.

A vey odd ball knife with a very odd ball lock release. Case actually got a patent on the lock mechanism/release.
 
That's a large beast!

I was going to say the only thing i'm not too keen on is that deeply recessed CASE shield...now I know why!

Isn't a Sidewinder some species of viper?? Hence the blade etch and play on words?
 
My dad has one and it's awesome! The back spring is one of the heaviest I have felt and the lock is spot on. My brother and I break it out almost everytime we visit.
