Looking for an experienced operator to heat treat and temper two of my O1 blades. These will be my first knives I've made. Also would like to see the heat treat done if possible have a bit of my own hand in it. Please let me know if you fit what I would need, thanks...

Talk to the folks at SOFA down in Troy. One of their members should be able to help.

What JDM said, join SOFA! Use the shop and have one of the guys show you how to do it yourself.

southern Ohio forge and anvil.

Google that. They are at the Miami County fairgrounds in Troy. You're lucky to be so close to them!

Dperk,do they still run the ABS hammer in? I went to one of the first ones. They have a really nice shop!!!

SOFA is first class and if you are at all serious about blacksmithing or bladesmithing and are in the area you should join.

They are not a heat treating service though and you can't really call them up and heat treat a blade. That said, if you do join they have open forge nights on Wednesdays and you could go to one of those and use their forge to heat treat a blade. They do have a small oven and I have used it once, but it is old and I don't trust the temp control on it.

Good Luck

If you enable PMs, I can pass some contact info along of a maker who would be willing to help.

Also there will be a custom knife show at the Miami County fairgrounds sponsored by sofa Friday and Saturday March 3rd and 4th. Should be a good chance to meet some local makers. I'll be there both days
