top to bottom, decent sized job--size of chips flying by the big knife--bois d'arc cut in 14 seconds by trey--& area we were roamin in.

the kukri is a totally different cutting experience. swinging from left to right fatigues me faster since my previous chopping was opposite direction. the kurk cuts so deep that much of the effort is pulling knife out of wood. no hatchet can approach this cutter, & the power is so great that this is the 1st knife that actually intimidated myself. one truly realizes a mistake with this tool means major physical damage . a person adept with a kukri can equal the cutting production of a small axe.it will be some time before i feel comfortable cutting with this tool, if i lived near the woods i could practice daily & shorten the learning curve.--dennis

Dennis,

As always, an interesting post with some fantastic and fun-looking knives! Thanks for sharing.

I am not sure how many people that look at these things really understand/comprehend how dangerous chopping can be (particularly chopping with that much foreward mass). It is wildly fun, but you are right to mention awarness of potential dangers...wisdom/training/education is a great thing!

That last photo is hilarious on so many levels....that is all I will say about that:D

Wow. Sweet blade.
Someday, I wanna get me one of those Siegle khukuris, just like that one (I like your handle better than the handle on the Khuk on his website).

i'm not fond of khukris that stick. ideally, they should just throw chips. occasional sticks are one thing... always sticking, not so great.

still, that particular model IS a great chopper/cutter :> sometimes with the sticking though.
