second day of chopping with bill siegle's 9.75 in 5160
the mesquite took me about 18 minutes since i'm not a good chopper but this wood is about 40% harder than hickory. previosly i had cleared some thorn bushes & other junk for a firing lane on hogs. hogs were not to be seen so thurs i went to bottoms to wring out the chopper. it would'nt cut typing paper but would still slice an envelope.

Mesquite is a Bitch to chop!!!!

Most people have no idea what it's like to chop.

I do so love seeing a Siegle getting USED

Thanks for posting

That mesquite is some of the hardest wood I have ever dealt with. Growing up in TX (Breckenridge) not far from Comanche,I remember cutting it with a chain saw and throwing SPARKS if you hogged down on the saw! Burns HOT too.--KV

My condolences to your chopping arm. Glad you are having fun with the knife :D
