Doe's anyone have and tips for cooking and heating water in
a sierra cup.? I heard that someone cooked rice in one.
Thanks

In The Complete Walker Colin Fletcher has a number of suggestions regarding the Sierra cup... (4th edition, pgs 272-274). As far as I am concerned, the most helpful one is the bending of the handle to provide a more comfortable grip. Also be aware that they come in a number of different sizes and materials. I find my oversized cup (sorry... can't remember where I got it...) more than adequate for day hikes (even if it doesn't fit on the bottom of my water bottles...).

Hope this helps

Take two sierra cups, nest three pennies or some other small objects between them, and you have a mini double boiler you can melt cheese or chocolate with.

awesome idea, brother. thank you.

i've had my eyes on this one for my ultralight kitchen. - it's more like a mini-wok at 750 mL. it's got a little pourer built into the top too, which'll be handy.

Siera Cups have gone out of fashion, but i think their shape really favors efficient heating on can stoves and such. they make a decent multi-pot lid too.

i want the one that i mentioned because i want to try it as a mini-snow-shovel for making shelters. the titanium might make it better, i am hoping.
