Just saw an ad for these while browsing through Sig's site. At first glance, I think they look pretty cool, I mean i don't think you can really go wrong with the 1911 design, and Sig is an excellent company. Can anyone give any feedback? Pics would be nice too :p

If it is one of the newer ones, it will be ok. The early ones had a few bugs. It took them a year or two to get them worked out. My early commander, would hit the back of the bushing on the bbl. lug, & brad it out. you couldnt get the bushing out. I fixed the problem myself. It was very accurate . They are one of the best looking 1911s out there. they are not cheap.

Really want one of the Sig TACOPS threaded barrel models just so I have an excuse to buy a .45 Caliber CAN.

Are the Sig 1911s true 1911s, like a copy of a 70 or 80 Series Colt?? I have seen a couple and they looked good, and I love Sig guns but I don't know anything about the guns internal and I prefer for my 1911s to stay close to the standard design.

I would strongly recommend avoiding them.

Sig can't turn out a gun these days like they used to, their current production productions have been plagued with problems:

The contracting officer reviewed the SSB's consensus reports and agreed with the recommendation that Sig Sauer's proposal should be excluded from phase III, based upon the number of stoppages recorded for Sig Sauer's handguns.

You'd be better off with a Springfield Armory, for the money.
