Took my new Sig 556 out shooting today for the first time. 150 rounds put through it, mainly Remington FMJ and American Eagle FMJ. All rounds cycled flawlessly with the 2 Magpul PMAGs I used. Recoil seems to be at least 30% less than a comparable M4 type system (similar weight, setup). The 2 stage trigger on this rifle is by far the smoothest, crispest trigger I've felt on any factory assault type rifle. Sighted in, or attempted to at 25 yards. 5 round groups averaged .4" with a 3 shot group right around 1/4" with the Remington ammunition. Optic used was a Leupold MR/T 1.5-5x scope. Personally for me, this is the perfect scope from 50 to 500 meters. The 5" inches of eye relief is nice and once you're used to getting it on target it's just as quick at 1.5 power as an ACOG or red dot type sight. Gonna go out later this week and try it again at 100 and 350 yards, hopefully get some pictures, but it sure is cold outside! Oh yeah, and no star chamber to clean!!!! :o

That is the perfect scope. I have one on a LaRue mount.

I came VERY close to picking up a Sig 556, because Sig is by far my favorite and most trusted firearms company, but an Arsenal RPK with a machined reciever popped up, and I couldnt resist...that said, I still give Sig plenty of business:

I agree 100%. Only issue I've had is with the range of elevation adjustments. I have to have it cranked all the way up for a 25 yard zero. Other than that, I can't complain about the scope or Leupold's new SPR reticle. Oh and the LaRue mount is awesome along with the company themselves. Only other change will probably be a new stock with a raised cheek piece.

Here is a pic of the setup, I'll get some at the range maybe, it my be too cold out there for my camera!

IIRC I paid around 1100 for it at sportsman's warehouse with 5% off. www.gunbroker.com is a great site to gauge firearm prices on. Sights added a few hundred more. It really doesn't come with very good iron sights.
