SIG P229 DAK question??

Got a quick question I'd like answered. I'm toying with either my next handgun being a P229 or P229 DAK, but I'm USED to 1911s. I like the basic DS/SA Sig design with decocker, but am curious about the DAK system, is it a LIGHT true DAO design (is it like a S&W preformance center tuned revolver) with double strike capability or is it a precocked system (more similar to a Glock or Sigma) and how is the trigger? Is it something I should be concerened about carrying concealed (is it likely to AD) Also, would really like the opinion of anyone that has owned both of these pistols, I've pretty much decided I want my next pistol to be a P229 in .40 just can't decide on the trigger. Thanks

It feels like a Springfield LDA. I can't remember if it's precocked like the LDA, but it certainly feels like it. There is a long first stage followed by a nice break. The reset is short so followup shots are quick. I really liked it. The long first stage would prevent any NDs.

Being used to 1911's, you'll appreciate having every trigger pull be the same. Getting used to a long first round pull followed by nice SA pulls isn't as trivial as you think.

H&K has an LEM (Law Enforcement Module) trigger system in some of it's USPs as well as the new P2000. It feels similar to the Sig, but I liked H&Ks version slightly better. It just felt smoother.

It's really personal preference and what you train with. I have had a P229 .40 for over 12 years after having had a Browning BDA(SIG P220)for several years. I have never owned a handgun with a "safety" and would not like to switch now. The de-cocker is much easier in my mind. I have shot many rounds with this system. I'm used to it. I like the option of single or double action but I certainly see the reasoning behind a single weight trigger DAO.
If the gun fits your hand it is easier to shoot acurately. Try both before you decide even if you have to track down an owner at a gun range. The Picatinny rail might be a nice addition that my 229 does not have. Just my 2c

Thanks for the information, I was wanting a consistent trigger pull, I'm used to 1911s and S&W Double Action revolvers, I don't have any DA/SA guns and have never fired one (without cocking it first ;) ) so I was apprehensive about such a setup, I will probably go with the DAK trigger on this account (esp if it feels like a LDA, I like that trigger).
