Sig Sauer Turbine ?

Hi Ravaillac,

It defenatly looks like a Turbine special edition. You know boker does manufacture for different brand names like Heckler & Koch and others. The Turbine gets very positive reviews on messerforum.net a german forum. Very good fit and finish.

It looks like a good one i specially like the high carbon steel blade configuration.

Maybe Terry or Tobias can say more about this one.

Greets Maarten;)

Ravaillac,

I did some research on this one. Beagleboy of the messerforum net said that the bladesteel is not known and so i would be carefull with this one. Hi Carbon Steel alone is somewhat vague IMHO. It can be put on any blade containing Carbon.

I don't know if this one is manufactered under licence of Boker!!!!

To be sure to get a quality knive i would choose the genuine Boker Turbine 1 or 2 to be sure to get the real thing.

This one showed up arround februari 2006.

Maybe Tobias or Terry could say something.

I'm asking about it, and will post what I find out.
Thanks,
Terry

I'm very interested in what you can find since messages on messerforum aren't very clear.

hi Ravaillac,

You are right they were not certain about this one on messerforum. But now we are about 2 years later so their should be more known about this one. If i where you i would wait with this one till Terry comes back to us about this matter.

We want to be certain that the Sig Sauer is not a knock-off don't we;).

The normal Turbine got very good feedback from customers in germany. I like this one too: that is the Boker one with olive alumine and wood inlays. XT-15-n Steel. The Turbine 2 is a bit smaller and better for daily EDC IMHO.

Bon Soir ;)

As of right now, I do know that it was made by Boker for distribution
in Europe.
I have not found out anything about materials yet.
Thanks, Terry

Thanks Terry,

That is good news. Glad it is not a Knock- off. Those piss me off! Now is it too bold to ask if you could come up with more information about the blade steel and components?

Greets Maarten

Hello Maarten,
Tobias may chime in here with more, or different info, and we will see
what he has to say, but we will try to find out what we can.

And no, it is no problem at all.
Take care,
Terry

Alright, I got the rest of the info on this knife, from Tobias, and the other DW.

The Sig Sauer design and engineering was done by Boker in Solingen, and an agreement was reached to sell this design to Sig Sauer.
The difference between the Turbine & the Sig is the quality of materials, and the country of origin, as the Boker Turbine is produced in the Boker Germany plant.

I hope this clears it all up, and is not more confusing.
Thanks,
Terry

Hi,

thanks for info.
I think I'll get the Boker one, at least you know where it's made.
Well not now because I've got quite to much on order already, but soon or late, it is bound to happen.

I guess that's knife addict doom.
