Here is your chance to get one of the Kevin Estela designed Polaris. I'm offering the first run to 8 people. I'm sure Kev will post his review soon.
These will be made from 5/32" thick A2 steel. Handle materials available will be linen micarta, black, green, natural, red/black, green/black. Canvas micarta, natural, green, black and turquoise/black. Wood scales, osage orange, curly maple, IPE, walnut burl.
Cost for micarta is $225.00
wood, $235.00. I can do ironwood for $20.00 more
If you want to go fancy with stag, it would be $285.00. Keep in mind that stag will give it a thick handle.
The sheath will be my standard pouch. I will need a $50.00 deposit to be placed on the list. I don't have an exact completion date but I'm looking at sometime in May or June. Most likely May.
shipping cost is $7.00
EDIT to add specs. The knife is 8 1/2" overall with a 4" blade, 3 3/4" cutting edge. Approximate blade width is 1".

1. Rotte- Black linen micarta deposit paid
2. silenthunterstudios- osage orange/black liners, deposit paid
3. hayseedw45-natural canvas/brick liners 3/8" micarta paid
4. kahuana-natural canvas/black liners 3/8"

Great looking knife Scott, looks like ya have a winner on your hands to me buddy !

Scott do you have a pic of the bone and micarta option. Just on any knife so I could see the texture and look.

I had two in the shop but they are on their way to Knivesshipfree.com. As soon as Derrick posts the knives on the website, you can see them.
Trust me, they look awesome. I like the old fashioned look of bone but it's just too thin on a larger handle fixed blade so I added the micarta to thicken the handle. On an 1/8" tang, it make a nice hand filling 3/4" handle.

Hmmmmm, let me think about it....

OK! Sign me up for black micarta handles. Deposit on the way!

I'm not going to be able to do the bone/micarta with these because of handle length. Most bone that is available is too short. The knives I did with it had shorter handles.

Please put me up for this one per our conversation, osage orange. I'll bring my deposit over next week. Thanks, Dan.

The review is coming soon but overall for now I can say you have another great performer here my friend!

T&E is done but review is being typed now. Here are some teaser photos for now. This was one of the most thorough tests I've ever done on a blade and I'm still very happy.

I love the looks of the knife and the sheath. After the deposit is paid, any idea about when the rest will be due?

The balance would be paid right before the knife would ship. I plan to start them as soon as I get the blanks from Great Lakes waterjet.

How thick of a handle does the stag make. Abouth how much wider is it than the micarta.

Stag is always tricky. I never know the thickness until I get it. I would guess it would be at least an inch wide. I can adjust the thickness of micarta by grinding it down. Stag, can't be done like micarta.

Sign me up for one as well. I can't let Hayseed go in alone. He needs a wingman. I'll email the details.
