Signal devices (laser/LED/mirror/flashlights) - a review

I have been considering the purchase of Greatland's Rescue Laser Flare ( www.greatlandlaser.com ) for kayaking and came across this review at www.equipped.org/rescuelaser.htm .

While it is mostly dedicated to the Rescue Laser it also compares it to:
LED's
strobe
flashlights
surveyor's laser
mirror (moonlight)
green laser

The tests were done ground to aircraft at several miles.
