Hello Porch Dwellers! I feel like I am long overdue to host a GAW. I've really been shown some amazing generosity from a few members here. I'm not going to single anyone out. They know who they are!
I also recently got myself into the deep rabbit hole of slipjoint modding with an eye towards eventually making my own slippies and none of that would be possible without you all. As a small token of "Thanks" I want give away something I have made as it would only be fitting.
When the GEC #86's dropped my little modding hobby really started to take flight and I had the opportunity to do a bunch of blade deletes and recovers to that pattern. I decided to turn those smaller, thin blades into something useful. So I made what I call the Pajama Pocket Carver. These are a lightweight (linerless) build. I whittled down the width and length of the frame and it's now pretty much the same size as a GEC #78. The word play on the "Pajama Pocket" just kinda came to me because of all this COVID-19 and Stay at Home business, reading about all these folks who stay in and never get out of their pajama or sweat pants. Those lightweight pockets require a lightweight knife! Anyway, I had 2 of the blades that were pen shaped and so I'm giving 1 away here. I know the nick is on the "wrong" side but it's completely pinchable and perfectly workable for you righty folks and I don't think any of our lefty companions will complain.
Terms of the GAW are as follows:
1. You must have at least 20 posts in the Porch.
2. You may enter only once for yourself OR a friend who is also a member. A simple "I'm in" or "I'm in for @xxx" will suffice.
3. I will ship most anywhere on God's green earth BUT I will not ship to a country with a communist or oppressive government. Sorry, i just won't!
4. If you've hosted a GAW here in The Porch in 2020 you are allowed 2 entries for either yourself and/or your friend. You deserve it! Honor system applies.
5. This GAW will run until this Thursday 4-23-2020 @ 2000cst at which time I will draw using some random number generator to decide the winner.
Here is the Pajama Pants Pocket Carver to be given away. Just finished this one up today! An 86 pen blade, lightweight frame with natural tan canvas micarta. (The black one belongs to
JTB_5
and is not available)
