Signature on Randall Blade

Hi, I recently recovered a randall buxton fighter. And I noticed that on one side of the blade there is a symbol "BF 768".
Does anyone know what that means?

Randalls are sometimes marked by the owners. If you go to the Randall website, you'll see that etching is a customer option.
