Okay---I know that this is alittle unorthodox (Hope this is cool Spark), but Dick Marcinko ("Demo Dick" aka The Rogue Warrior) is coming to Nashville on Thursday night to sign his newest book "Echo Platoon" and I am planning on going to get one (or two or ten.)

I am wondering if there is a way for me to hook any of you guys who know his work and would like a personalized autographed copy for your very own. I DO NOT WANT TO PROFIT FROM THIS! I am just trying to help out my fellow forumites. Someone come up with a plan on how to get me the money by Thursday and I will be happy to get you your own copy (hardbound obviously) signed (literally) sealed and delivered. :-)

I am unsure of what the price will be for the book, but I will try to find out from the bookstore tomorrow morning and post the price here for anyone who wants to try to get me the money or if you talk REALLY nice to me, I'll float you a loan until you can mail it to me. Please advise.

Spark--is there anyway the forums can get into this too? Just curious.

Okay--to reach me you can email me, call me at work or on my cell phone. Feel free to use my cell phone anytime of the day. (unlimited minutes and voice mail are a beautiful combination.) I'll give my toll-free office number and my extension number.

OFFICE: 1-800-893-2749 x209
CELL: 1-615-568-3640

If there is no answer at either, just leave a voice mail. I'll try to get back with you and verify any details.

I always check my email...that may be a safe route to go too. The address is either:
DPSproles@webbsrefreshments.com OR
dps2970@hotmail.com

Looking forward to hearing form you!

Sounds like a public service to me... pretty cool thing for you to do.

Just so you all know, however, BladeForums.com is not condoning this, etc, yadda yadda yadda, send money at your own risk, etc. Make sure that you guys (on both sides) cover your bases...

Thanks for the "blessing" Spark. I will hold my end up (and from my dealings here before...so will the other guys.)

I will try to find out which one he's carrying...

I am planning on using PayPal to receive payments form everyone. I have just set up an account and it seems quite logical. If you do not have an account yet, you should check it out and set one up for yourself. It would be a great way to expedite any e-transaction here on the BF. http://www.paypal.com

Email me with any questions.

I am interested in his carry knife too. I am wondering why you say that it won't be an Emerson. A falling out? I have noticed that in his last book he was carrying a "Gerber blade." Will be interested in knowing which he REALLY prefers and why.

Absolutely Jeff. Emerson's ego. Dick has the name Rogue Warrior copyrighted so he should have at least asked. Not that the Sharkman doesnt have a large ego too.
BTW-in his last book, Marcinko carried a Mad Dog Taiho.

BAD NEWS! I am NOT going to be able to make it to the book signing. I am sorry for the "tease" with my offering to go, but you know how schedules can get crazy FAST!

Please forgive me and understand that I would love to make it, but just cannot pull it off. Sorry for the inconvenience!

For those of you that were curious, Marcinko was carrying a black blade MT Hawk in his right front pocket, a benchmade AFO in his back pocket, and a Spyderco Q with the H&K symbol in his left front pocket.

Critical Mass--
Thanks for the update. Did you tell him what you were doing and who were checking for (The Forums.) BTW---how big of a guy is he? I cannot remember from his books, something like 6'4 250# isn't he? Just wondering.
