Hi There,

Last weekend I traded my regular Sebenza in BG42 for a regular Sebenza in BG 42 but now with a signed flat ground blade.;)
On the blade is a signature from Chris and the date 07/04/2001.

Do I now have a "rare" Sebenza, I am not going to use it so it will stay in my collection.
Any information from you would be usefull....

kind regards,

Werner

Hey Werner, the only way to truly verify it's rarity is to send it to me :).

Nice catch!

IIRC, a 130 Flat Ground Sebenza's were made before CR decided that the process wasn't efficient enough and the demand wasn't high enough to make the grind a permanent option. I thought they were made in the 2003 timeframe though, but I could be mistaken.

Don't forget there is always a ready aftermarket for these things if you are so inclined. Great addition to your collection in any event - congrats.

Thats a tough call.

Not sure if I would use it or not, but wish I had a sebenza with a flat grind.

I wasn't even aware of these untill now. Can you get a pic of its not to much trouble?

I prefer hollow grind. but bg42, ah....that's the best part of it.

Not my picture.

Hold on to it! It is valuable! Made in 2001 according to the date on the blade.

If you are going to sell this knife let me know I will take it. I contacted Chris about making me one on he told me no.

I did use it, it was mine, but only lightly. I did sharpen it for when I got it, second hand, it was dull.

I am happy with my traded BG42 hollow ground knife. I am not a collector.
