A few pics from some BATAC use. First, some shavings...

Then, a little batoning and wood splitting...

Next, a happy, used BATAC...

Okay Bravado, your turn!!!
:D :D :D

Finally, more than one person has inquired after the small Spec-Ops sheath that I had in a couple of previous photos. The fit is decent, and the only change I've made so far is to cut out a small channel on one side of the slip to better accomodate the guard. The pics are a bit blurry here, but they adequately convey what I mean. The only other modification I might make is to heat and flatten the slip just a bit more.

Great pics!!!

If you use a tan Busse the right way you can save the money from desert shadow camo;)

A used Busse is a loved Busse!

Guyon, those are some great pics and a beauty BATAC. I really like the little mod on the sheath.

Any likes / dislikes between the combat master or the suvival sheath?

I have both and I don't really need the extra space on the survival sheath. I'd rather not keep to many important things for survival together with the knife. Also, the snap that holds the pouch closed on the survival sheath has gotten stuck together on mine, ripped off on one side and is now useless. Less can go wrong with the combat master and it is thinner.

I have noticed that the Spec-Ops liner haver a pretty good curl to them; I wonder if that's designed in as a sort of secondary retention?

Haggis, I only have combat masters (two large and two small), so I can't really speak to the difference. Hog Feet seems to have you covered.

What type of wood are you chopping/shaving in those pics?

I'm pretty sure it's some kind of maple. No styrofoam involved. :D My neighbor a few doors down had a big limb fall. I drug it over here to chop into some firewood for an upcoming camping trip.

That's exactly right, but it's mostly true of the large--not so much on the small. I actually called the company after getting my first large sheath. The lady told me they get a lot of calls (and even returned sheaths) because of the curve, but that it is intended to produce friction between knife and slip and to add retention. I heated up one of my large ones and straightened it out a bit. Too much curve for me.

I don't think Bravado is rising to the challenge. :D

Great pics. This knife can really do it all it seems. I got my OD in today and have to decide wheather to use it or my black batac.

Thanks for the pics.

Crap, someday I'm going to post some pics of my 1/100 BM being beat through a treated 6x6 with my 20 oz framing hammer!!!
Sweet pics.

Congrats! You appear to be the first one to actually use their Badger. I've only used mine around the kitchen so far. I need to ease into it a little before working it hard. ;)
