Sorry, no pics, just assembling a list of what I've got and what I use them for.
Most of them are used, some are abused. Trying to justify my collection.

AG Russell quincewood small folder (gentlemans folder, occasionally used)

Benchmade Apparition (gentlemans folder, occasionally used)

Boker Arbolito FB stag small (rare use, safe queen FWIW)

Boker congress with bird dogs on it (used when I was younger)

Browning 305 presentation lockback (gentlemans knife)

Buck 110 (just bought it to have in my collection, safe queen FWIW)

Buck Knight (gentlemans folder, occasionally used)

Buck Cadet (gentlemans folder, occassionally used)

Buck 110 custom damascus/stag handle (definite safe queen)

Camillus USMC fighter CE sawback (user, some yardwork, camping)

Case mini Copperlock (gentlemans folder, occassionally used)

Cold Steel Culloden (light use)

Cold Steel Scottish Dirk (safe queen by default, gonna test it out)

Cold Steel Bushman (truck/BOB knife, good user, holds edge pretty well)

Cold Steel Kukri LTC (just got in a trade, can't wait to use it!)

Cold Steel Kukri machete (good camp knife, great for yardwork, will buy another when mine bites the dust)

Cold Steel mini stockman (gentlemans knife, occasional use)

CRKT M16-13 (haven't used it much yet, might become EDC)

CRKT F4 (great little piece, hidden in my truck)

CRKT M16-01K (light use, pretty much stays in my knife roll)

CRKT M21 (great camp knife, pretty much found a home in my gear)

CRKT Crawford Falcon fixed (another truck knife, center console, utility)

CRKT Polkowski Kasper Companion (another truck knife)

Fox n Hound stag lockback short (gentlemans folder, used occassionally)

Kabar short tanto (was going to be my main truck knife, but I like it too much)

Kershaw Splinter quince wood (gentlemans folder, used occasionally)

Kershaw Chive SS (used occassionally, another paying rent in the knife roll)

Kershaw Scallion green (light use)

Kershaw Blackout (light use)

Leatherman Squirt (probably most used EDC)

Leatherman Juice (truck multi tool)

Leatherman Wave old (some light use)

Schrade 34ot (gentlemans folder, started wearing occassionally)

Schrade Uncle Henry 897 UH (gentlemans folder, very light use)

Schrade Cave Bear 7ot (my main user growing up, new one is just a safe queen)

Schrade 12ot (gentlemans folder)

SOG Flash II (new user)

SOG Twitch (light use)

SOG Twitch II (new pocket EDC)

SOG Twitch XL (light use)

SOG Blink (new BOB knife)

SOG Powerlock (light use first week I bought it, then relied on my Juice)

Spyderco Delica (alternate with Native III for bigger EDC)

Spyderco Salt (bought to try out on the headboat deep sea fishing)

Spyderco Endura (sometimes my big EDC)

Spyderco Native III (bigger EDC in belt sheath)

Spyderco Jester (main EDC for a week and it performed great!)

Spyderco Ladybug (smallest EDC, great little knife)

Victorinox Swiss Champ (camp knife)

Western FB hunter (good user for a year, used all winter, especially in snow, almost had a heart attack when I found out what it was worth, still use it sometimes)

I also have a custom handmade antler handled knife, I believe the steel is some type of carbon. I don't think it's for use, might just be a regalia knife.

I think that's it  .

Thin out and go custom. It is easier to justify! lol!

Easier said than done! :) I'm slowly but surely assembling a want list of custom pieces. Looking for Bud Nealy, Terzuola and Ed Fowler knives, as well as some local guys knives.

That's no small number of knives, 51 by my count, definitely a good start. But I notice a relatively small sample of knife manufacturers and a rather limited scope of knife styles. You need to branch out, IMO.

Glaringly absent from your list: German brands, SAKs, Opinels, bayonet, khukri, anything from Seki Japan, Scandanavean brands, Marbles, Bark River, vintage knives...

I'm not dogging your choices so far, just pointing out that your accumulation has plenty of room to grow in an infinite number of directions.

More knives! More knives! More knives! :)

If you want to get started in handmade/custom knives, I suggest starting small and in the same price range as your factory knives. My first true 'custom' knife arrived this week. It's an Anza built and designed exclusively for me, based on my design ideas and with my material choices; naturally, it's a real beauty. I also have an order in for an Allen Blade knife - one of his standard models, but with my choice of materials.

Best Wishes,
Bob

I do have a Vic, posted some kukris, have some old WW2 bayonets. I'm gonna have to make up a better list! Check out my want list in the Exchange, I have some pretty diverse wants IMO.

You are definitely off to a good start then!

Do you have some sort of record book? I recommend starting one before things get out of hand. I printed out a knife 'form' on the computer, took it to Kinkos, and had it made into small Velo-bound 50-page books. The 'form' includes where I obtained the knife, price, date, measurements, materials, etc. Then on the back of each page is space to glue a photo or advertisement of the knife. Just an idea...

Best Wishes,
Bob

I don't think I'm to the point of being overwhelmed yet, but I can definitely write my collection down in a log book.

Wal Mart often has those school lab/journal books for 50 cents sometimes for 25 cents. I use them for all sorts of things; they'd make a good knife record book, and less expensive than my Kinkos books, which cost around $3 each.

Best Wishes,
Bob

What about a Fallkniven fixed blade? Those are some nice ones to have.

BTW, if you wanna log your collection, try filling up a Moleskine. That'll be the ultimate indulgement! :D

Peter

Ayshun City Merlin, hon! :D

Plan to take it out on the headboat at either Sunset Marina or Bahia Marina out of Ocean City, MD. Hope to use it on the Tuna Tournament next year. I plan to catch something this summer!

Bud Nealy - Nice and fairly inexpensive. His MCS can't be beat for carry options
Terzuola - folders, right? (he does make the rare fixed blade) med. price range. Superb finish and quality.
Ed Fowler- Boy, this one will definately cost you! Take a look at Audra Drapers work for stuff that might be a little less.
Good luck.
