Silicone cloth for 1095

I have a cloth for wiping down my gun barrels.

would that also help protect against stains and rust on a 1095 steel blade (northfield unxld)?

Should work just as well on carbon steel blades.

Should work. Just make sure the blade is clean & completely dry, before wiping with the silicone. Don't want to trap dirt & moisture on the blade.
