Silicone tape

I've used it or heard of it until now, and now I want about 20 rolls. Looks very useful.

I first bought under a different name in the early 90s at a boating store when I went crusing on my sailboat. Have used it a few times, includiong a diswahser hoser leak recently in the house I'm renting. I keep a roll in each of my vehicles now should I ever have a hose break/leak. It really is that good.

Hey Guys..

This is something similar to electricians splicing tape..
I've used Fusiontape long before it became popular..

If it's better than the electrician's tape I've used I'd buy it by the case...

Also just bought a roll of Gorilla Tape..
Holy Smokes is that stuff sticky!

I have been using that stuff for 30+ years in the aircraft biz. Commonly used on jet engines to hold insulation onto hot tubing. Never thought of using it in an emergency. Have seen it blow out on hoses so it would have to be a real emergency before I'd rely on the stuff.

I used some stuff that was similiar but another brand. Mine was marketed as a plumbing repair tape. It was all silicone, it seems, but maybe a little sticky. It stretched well in 2 directions, and had a lot of give. It was easy to wrap irregular objects, and seemed like it would make a leakproof connection. Like I said, mine was a different brand, but I would not try to make a high pressure seal with it unless there were quite a few layers backing it up. Also, it had a backing for the adhesive that made it rather slow to apply. All in all, good stuff though.

Hey guys, I think this is the same stuff as Tommy Tape, you can get it at just about any Wal-Mart. If you google Tommy Tape you will see what I mean.
