Does anyone own the Silky Ono? I've never heard of it before, but I love their products.

I haven't used an Ono. My experienced with other flat-stock cut hatchets is that they are not effective choppers because they lack mass behind the bit. You can baton them but then the flat profile is more likely to stick instead of splitting. I would classify it as an HSO - hatchet shaped object.

Thank you, Square_peg. I had the same reservations, but they make such good products I wanted to ask.

First time I've seen one. Great saws-I have 2 but this chopper looks more at home in the kitchen.

Looks like something more for knocking off small twigs and branches while pruning then actually chopping. Maybe something around the size of your thumb but I wouldn't push is further then that. Guess you gotta use the right tool for the job, and it looks like it was designed to be light weight to be carried easy, small enough to be carried and just big enough to prune. Not for doing what a good hatchet or saw should be used for.

Just thinking out loud I guess, but that's my .2 cents.
