ive been watching alot of videos on bail out bags recently and have been refineing my own, and ive been seeing alot of strange things included in them so far. the strangest have to be from a friend of mine who showed me his. it had shuriken in it. like, ninja stars. i still cant think of any practical use for the damn things outside of irritating the neighbors cat. so im curious to see what kind of wacky things y'all have seen in other peoples kits.

just as a side note i think its sort of strange to add more than a notebook, or a single book into a bag. ive seen kits that have 3 or 4 books in them and i just have to say that for the size and weight, it seems sort of odd to have them in there.

A guy had a video game, halo, in his BOB when we are on a survival course...... Stupidest thing i ever seen..... But only because it was returned to him from another member at the course :)

Books are valuable, depending on the ones picked. I had a couple edible plant and other survival books that i wanted to put in mine..my first issue was waterproofing them. and the size and weight was a problem, i then saved them on an SD card, and could view them in a good waterproof gps i had that also went into the BOB, but then i needed solar chargers extra batteries and eventually those stop working too...

But the knowledge in books is hard to replace

30lbs of knives
I had the picture on my old computer
This guy had this huge back pack that had to weigh over a 100lbs
When he started to show me what was in it, I asked him how many knives did he have in there
His reply was, I am not sure but they weigh just over 30lbs

i dont know whether to laugh, or applaud him

I think mine is rather well-stocked

If the-world-as-we-know-it is coming to an end, I at least want to offer a proper final toast.

Saw a very cool "gentleman's survival kit" on knowledgeweighsnothing.com. It was custom built out of an antique suitcase and some other flea market finds with custom made wood inlay and cutouts for each item. The silliest thing in it was the bottle of Jack Daniels honey. He specifically got the honey flavored JD because it had a white label which he thought looked best in his case. Admittedly, the white label did look cool (which was the whole point as it wouldn't be a very handy package to lug around) but a gentleman never chooses a whiskey based on the color of the label.
