It isn't a silly question. Without seeing the listing, it would be hard to say why it has such a low opening price. Is the shipping $20? Does it have six days left to the auction end? Are all of the blades there? PM me thru my profile and I will look at it for you.
The sellers of the Chinese knives have begun to wise up as buyers have learned the difference between those Chinese copies and American Schrades. They have found that they are seldom likely to get more than the opening bid, so they start them above what they paid for them now. Or plan to make their profit on the shipping.
Welcome to the forum. You could do a lot worse than to buy a genuine U.S.A. Schrade Uncle Henry knife for an every day carry.

EDIT: Ahhh... that is the answer. Almost five days left, no box so it isn't SELLING for less than five, bidders are just biding their time toward the end of the auction. The knife (even with a poor picture) will likely sell for $25-30, IMHO. And shipping is seven.
