I was a just a wonderin ifen yall,ok sorry,do you guys think you could forge old wire twist double barrel shotgun barrels into suitable knives?We used to have 5 or 6 double barrels(just the barrels) that I bought when I was a kid at an auction for like 5 bucks,boy times sure have changed.I think my dad should still have them laying around somewhere.If we do I would think that would be a good use for them since I would never find a receiver for those old pre-stevens buyout hammer guns and they wouldn't be safe even if I did.Wouldn't they be damascus steel if you did?Thoughts?Thanks,Ric

In asked this question several years ago. It might have been on another forum it's been so long.
The general consensus was that the steel in the barrels would make lousy knives but if you could get someone to laminate a core piece of a decent steel between layers of the barrel steel it would work. Unknown just how it would look.
If anyone does it, post a review and some pics.
