Silly SEBENZA Question

I must admit with all the positive Sebenza talk on the forums, it has tempted me to try one. I would probably lean toward the classic with the 3" blade. I noticed a hole in the handle on them just to the front of the lanyard hole. Does this serve any purpose? It doesn't seem to add anything in a decorative way, at least to me. Also, do the Sebenza's have teflon or bronze washers between the blade and handle? ...Ed.

Hi Ed:

The "hole" is a part of the production process and does not serve any other purpose.

The washers are bronze. You'll love the knife. They are in a class of their own.

Knifenerd, Thank you for the quick response and good answers.
stjames, what a good post, as a matter of fact, I am going to go back and print it out. Thank You...Ed.

Although I don't own a Sebenza, that hole looks like it coincides with the hole on the lock-side slab. The latter is intended to get rid of a stress concentration and prevent the lock slot from propagating. Does this mean that all slabs start out as the same "hand"?
