The first time I listened to the words, I just thought, What The?
So, here's a couple that make me think: "Riddle me this",
Any others?

Holy Diver
You've been down too long in the midnight sea
Oh what's becoming of me
Ride the tiger
You can see his stripes but you know he's clean
Oh don't you see what I mean
Gotta get away
Holy Diver
Shiny diamonds
Like the eyes of a cat in the black and blue
Something is coming for you
Race for the morning
You can hide in the sun 'till you see the light
Oh we will pray it's all right
Gotta get away-get away
Between the velvet lies
There's a truth that's hard as steel
The vision never dies
Life's a never ending wheel
Holy Diver
You're the star of the masquerade
No need to look so afraid
Jump on the tiger
You can feel his heart but you know he's mean
Some light can never be seen
Repeat verse 1

And then there is:

Everything Zen
There must be something we can eat
Maybe find another lover
Should I fly to Los Angeles
Find my ******* brother

Minnie(?) Mouse has grown up a cow
Dave's on sale again
We kissy kiss in the rear view
We're so bored
You're to blame

Try to see it once my way
Everything zen
Everything zen
I don't think so

Raindogs howl for the century
A million dollars a steak
As you search for your demi-god
And you fake with a saint
There's no sex in your violence
There's no sex in your violence

Try to see it once my way
Everything zen
Everything zen
I don't think so

I don't believe that Elvis is dead
I don't believe that Elvis is dead
I don't believe that Elvis is, Elvis is

There's no sex in your violence

Sometimes, in lieu of any real message or well-written lyrics, bands will just spew out some pseudo-intellectual babble that ends up being overinterpreted by a public who says "There must be meaning behind this!".

That's one of the reasons I'm such a big fan of the Ramones. When abstract art came about, it was mainly expressionist paintings- it was supposed to mean something. In the 1950's Frank Stella took it back to basics and helped to start the Minimalist art movement where they just drew appealing images that meant nothing (although I'm sure many people tried to interpret it anyway- the same people who ponder the social commentary of Rambo: First Blood Part II). When Rock N' Roll became popular in the middle of the 1900's, it began simple, but then bands just started taking lyrics too far and writing things that made no sense or just took all the fun out of rock. In the 1970's the Ramones wrote simple lyrics accompanied by equally sympal instrumentals, and they became the Frank Stella's of punk rock- minimalist rock. Ironically enough, the other band at the top of my musical pyramid is Guns N' Roses, and although I don't consider their lyrics to be so deep that they're meaningless, the band reflected the decadence of the 80's in both lifestyle and music, so really listening to the two is like drinking a can of Pepsi and then sipping at chardonnet. :D

Uh...That would be just about most of the stuff by Frank Zappa, and Weird Al Yankovich.:D.

Ya know, I could never figure out what Everything Zen was about, but considering the caliber of Bush's other lyrics it never bothered me too much. I thought Sixteen Stone was a great radio album.

RIP-OFF
T. Rex

In the moonlight
Fighting with the night
It's a rip-off

Kissing all the slain
I'm bleeding in the rain
It's a rip-off

Such a rip-off

Rocking in the nude
I'm feeling such a dude
It's a rip-off

Dancing in the dark
With the tramps in the park
It's a rip-off

Such a rip-off

See your baby's stud
Sliding in my mud
It's a rip-off

Bleached on the beach
I want to tickle your peach
It's a rip-off

See the girl dance
In her man-skin pants
It's a rip-off

Terraplane Tommy
Wants to bang your gong
It's a rip-off

Such a rip-off

Gypsy girl's good
People treat her like a fool
She's a rip-off

The President's weird
He's got a burgundy beard
It's a rip-off

Such a rip-off

I'm the King of the Highway
I'm the Queen of the Hop
You should see me
At the Governor's Ball
Doing the Rip-Off Bop

I'm a social person
I'm the creature in disguise
There's a man with a whip
On his silver hip
Living inside my eyes

I'm the cat from the alley
I'm the fleet-foot voodoo man
There's very little that's ever said
All of which I understand

Caught like a skunk
In space and time
It's a rip-off

If it's hers
Well it must be mine
It's a rip-off

Such a rip-off

Dancing in the nude
Feeling such a dude
It's a rip-off

Mountains of the moon
Remind me of a spoon
It's a rip-off

Such a rip-off

Bleached on the beach
I want to tickle your peach
It's a rip-off

See the girl dance
In her man-skin pants
It's a rip-off

Niel Young has his moments. Most of his work on Re-ac-tor and Hawks and Doves was weird even in a drug filtered haze across the years. Lost in Space is classic fried Young.

For truly silly and worthless lyrics though, submitted for your perusal:

"Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Mushroom, mushroom!

Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Mushroom, mushroom!

Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Mushroom, mushroom!

Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Mushroom, mushroom!

Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! Badger! A snake! A snake! Snake! A snake! Oooohh, it’s a snake!

I've always admired the Butthole Surfers' perfectly lucid lyrics, for instance:

Dust Devil

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I drove out to the canyon grind and dust off from the sand
I don't ever f*** with the dust devil
He's got the power of an upright in his goddamn hand!
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Satan becomes a (?) and wind is as hot as a flame
The bodies fly right through the line
Or phase mister without pain
I grab onto a falling hand or walk into a door
But discovered that I was just buying a pound
Of turkey at the liquor store
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I drove out to the canyon, man
And hit the motherf***in' road
I (???????????????????????????)
Exactly like the picture told
The desert sky before my eyes
Had burned into a sea
A flaming mass of oil and gas
And screams of ecstasy
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Even the lyrics websites can't make heads or tails of certain parts of that one. But give it a listen, it totally ROCKS!

How about this little verse from Roadhouse Blues by The Doors.

Roadhouse Blues Lyrics (DOORS)

DOORS - Roadhouse Blues Lyrics...

...You gotta roll, roll, roll

You gotta each you puna
Each ya bop a luba
Each yall bump a kechonk
Ease sum konk
Ya, ride

It's hard to beat any of RJD's nonsence, but Black Francis of the Pixies can get out there.

"Gouge Away"

gouge away
you can gouge away
stay all day
if you want to

missy aggravation
some sacred questions
you stroke my locks
some marijuana
if you got some

gouge away
you can gouge away
stay all day
if you want to

sleeping on your belly
you break my arms
you spoon my eyes
been rubbing a bad charm
with holy fingers

gouge away
you can gouge away
stay all day
if you want to

chained to the pillars
a 3-day party
i break the walls
and kill us all
with holy fingers

gouge away
you can gouge away
stay all day
if you want to

"Hang Wire"

they're going higher
wind is whistling on the barbs
your head's a hammer

hang wire, hang wire
hang wire
(meet you at the) hang wire

that man is a liar
the day is like a warm night
salt rusts the cold line

hang wire, hang wire
hang wire
(meet you at the) hang wire

every morning and every day
i'll bossanova with ya

if there were a fire
can we scratch beneath this

hang wire, hang wire
hang wire
(meet you at the) hang wire?
