Hello to all the BladeForum members! I just wanted to thank everyone for their posts as Google has many times brought me here for an answer about a specific knife I was looking at. I finally took the plunge and joined up.
I recently purchased from a collector in Tennessee a used custom blade made by Silvana Mouzinho in Brazil. This knife has been well loved by the previous owners as the mosaic pins are well worn and the blade was dull. I put a new 25° edge on it and after a bit of stropping got it back to razor sharp. It has some exotic hard wood scales and she did an amazing job grinding this well balanced blade. I don't know how many of Silvana's knives have made it to the US but I'll keep an eye out for them now.
