Garrett Cartridge Co. makes hardcast 45/70 ammo that uses small amounts of silver to toughen the slugs in addition to the usual tin and antimony.

Now aren't you glad you looked?

I think they're using Oregon Trail Laser cast. I load them in .45 Colt - good stuff. Reaches waaaaayy out there

Garrett goes with the old Elmer Keith theory, a big hard bullet that makes a big hole, breaks bones, and doesn't deform. They also make a load for the 44 mag. It's one of the few handgun rounds legal for hunting elk here in WA. Last box I bought ran about $1/round.

I didn't realize that they were good for werewolves also. Thanks for the tip.

Do they make the "silver bullets" in .45 ACP? I wouldn't mind keeping 6-7 rounds on hand "just in case"

Do your realy need them, Jon? I thought they only let Hillary out during the day lately.

Besides with Zombiues and Werewolves I don't think bloodletting is a problem.

Just remember one thing, "Werewolves can't climb oak tress." Therefore one doesn't have to shoot at what's not there.

Looks like the HI forum is back on track.

For some reason which Doc may be able to figure out Cougar's post reminded me of an old radio program I used to listen to when I was a kid -- maybe 60 or 65 years back. It was called the "Hermit's Cave," and came on late Saturday night. Always a 30 minute tale of horror which would never fail to scare the hell out of me. When the program came on the background sound was the howling of wolves -- werewolves no doubt. Just the stuff to make for a young boy's sleepless Saturday night and fill every shadow with some terrible creature and every sound was one of the creature getting nearer and nearer. I guess we love to get scared.
