I take it from the number of knives you post, your retirement consists of staying in the shop all day, every day!
Excellent work as usual by the way.

You are correct on this assessment - designing and making beautiful knives in my shop, listening to classical music, while overlooking a pristine lake is my definition of heaven. Making a knife is so much more fun than: being verbally abused by a vice president or a corporate lawyer, flying coach in an airplane on a business trip, standing in the aisle of a commuter train to work, doing performance appraisals, taking crap from irate female bosses with no leadership skills, having to listen to classless peoples' cell phone discussions, commuting 2 1/2 hours to work one-way, etc, etc, etc. ;)

Good for you Tim, and I can't think of anyone who has worked harder at the craft over the last several years than you have.

How do you really feel? :D

Whatever set of environmental constraints conspired to move you to this present role.... well, the knife world is all the better for it, sir.
