"Silver-Stag-O-Matic"
"Jigged Silver"
"Metallic Bone"
The can opener patent was issued to Imperial on 12/25/35

Looks like the Mirando dude has one of the patents again...

United States Patent 2637102

Great bargains, TR!

I believe these models probably both came with an originally painted finish on the "jigging", most likely black in color.

I think of these shell handle knives like the Toyotas that were sold during the 70's. The bodies would rust out in the first 5-7 years, but the engines would go a couple hundred thousand miles.

I bet once you get those blades cleaned and oiled, they will snap nicely.

I do see the camper pattern in the 1959 catalog.

Haven't got nay more info than that right now though.

Thanks for sharing.

Once again Larry Vickery has taken the work out of it by archiving many of the related patents on his COSRUS site. Check it out!

That's the one!!!
I think it mostly has to do with the "projections" (#66) as a means of attaching the handles

I like the term "ornamental knife scale"..... BTW
I'm gonna incorporate it in my knife jargon.....;)

Was that patent on the COSRUS page the whole time??
I forgot all about that page
1st place I should have looked

Sometimes patents were placed on blades that were eventually used on knives that had nothing to do with the patent number. Sometimes the patent is only incorporated by one of it's claims such as the attachment means. Yes, Larry went to a lot of trouble to search and retrieve those patents and put them into .pdf files. Just another example of the great collector resources his site contains.
