Silver Nichol Bolster Polishing

Hi All,

What do you guys use to remove fine scratches in silver-nichol bolsters, in order to restore the mirror finish?

I usually polish it using cloth and Flitz (metal polish). If the scratches are not that deep, that should remove them.

Properly it's nickel silver, an alloy of copper zinc and nickel. It's fairly soft and any metal polish such as Flitz will work.

I´ve used a nail polishing file, the kind with several grits and a foamy backing, often found in ladies purses, but don´t just borrow one from a lady since it will get dark and won´t look nice after use.
