hey everybody!
I know it isn't a knife... but i wanted to show you. I made this circlet for my fiancee, Grace, to wear in our wedding. The circlet is made from Sterling and pure silver wire that has been hammered out and soldered together. in the pictures it is still a little dirty, but i took the pictures before putting it in the ultrasonic cleaner. please let me know what you think. this is the first thing like this that i have made.

Comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

Hey Chris-nice looking work-knife or not, your level of skill is much appreciated:thumbup::thumbup:

Why, that makes your young lady look like a Princess.

Not many young ladies could resist that ... ;)

My youngest is standing beside me as I type, her eyes wide open with an "Oooh!" on her lips. I'd say that's a winner.

thanks guys!
this was actually a result of Narnia.. and a super boring class. in the Narnia movie they get the coolest crowns not thos huge ugly things normally seen on the screen. soi thought "i can do that" and during the class.. well.. i was doodling. and a bunch of french curves went together to make this.

the silver was hammered out, sanded polished and then soldered together. i certainly hope to be able to pass it down. *grins* i am glad you like it! thanks for the kind comments

Very cool. If I ever get married again I might have to look you up, lol. The hooks to keep it on is also interesting.

Chris,
Excellent work! By hammering out the silver and leaving flowing curves, you manage to evoke Lord of the Rings style elf/celtic jewelry without doing a "crown of thorns". The only thing I'd suggest is that you get into those solder joins with a diamond bur and get it flush with the surface, and then re-polish to reflective.

Best wishes to you! You're going to be a lovely couple!

The jewelry I have done has mostly been hammered plate and wire (a lot in norse style) and I really like the balance you've got on that piece. It's simple but artisitc.

What the hell is a girl that beautiful doing with a goofball like you?:D:D

Nice work, bro... congrats for catching that one!
