I've been wanting to do this for awhile, looks pretty good too... I like the naked spine look with black crinkle coated Busse's.
I sanded down and polished up the edge & spine of a user Skeleton Game Warden that I usually carry in a kydex sheath, necker style. I didn't get all of the "pitting" out, but kinda like what's left as it almost has a wood grain type of look in the high polished INFI. I also put a convex edge on it, the edge is still a work in progress as it's better than it was, but still could use some improvement. A 'Vassili' edge would be sweet. :D

Not a big deal, but it's my first personal modding of ANY knife, so I'm happy with the results, and thought I'd share this with y'all. :D

Enjoy, & Thanxx for lookin'!

HEY! That's looks cool Jaxx...yeah, I like that look on Busses also. You did a real nice job there bro. Congrats!

Cars, bikes, and now knives. Nothing looks better than black-n-chrome.

That's what I have had in my head to do with my HH for a while now.

I guess that's the motivation I need to go ahead and get started.

That really came out nice Jaxx.

In fact it came out so nice that I don't even have some smart a-- remark to make about it.

Go figure.

PS

That customization really brings the coated GW to the "next level"

It would be neat to see custom Combat Grade knives, with things like that polished spine, a nice swedge and maybe some thumb serations, offered in a Ganzaa or snuck into the store once in a while.

Hey Jaxx, That would match my corvette nicely!!! Black and chrome great combo!!! I'll take it :-)

I REALLY like the look of the shiny and black. That looks terrifc, inspiring even!!

Thanxx, guys, for the kind words. :)
The beauty of this is that the polished areas seem to provide more of a grippy feel than they did when coated. I used to have to slip a pinky finger in the rear cutout when I would draw the knife from the sheath as my hand would slip down the coating, and my thumb kept slipping off the spine too easily. The polished spine seems to 'catch' the hand better, and it's about twice as hard or more now for the thumb to slip off of the spine. Gloves might reverse this effect, but I find it much more useful to me this way.... and it's got some class now... more of an 'upscale' look to the Tac Black.
I just saw a SAGE coated MilGanzaaaa Mr with a polished spine on another thread today and THAT COLOR coating looks great with the spine polished too! I'd better go get some more SANDPAPER!!! LOL I have a Tiger AD I wanna do next. :D:thumbup:
