Silversoldering or welding meteorite.

Can meteorite stand the heat from silversoldering or welding without having the widmannstatten pattern destroyed? If this is harmful, how about soldering with "staybrite"?

I have made several rings with 14kt gold soldered around meteorite, using standard gold solder, with no change to the pattern.
I recommend that you let it air cool, rather than quenching.

Yes, it can be hard soldered and the pattern won't change. I placed a D2 edgr on a meteorite folder blade I made. Yes, great to see you here. You are one of my favorites, Mr. Bell. Frank

Make sure it's a very low melting point hard solder !!
