hey guys,

i live in vancouver and dont have a whole ton in the way of knife stores to go to. I beleive there is one online supplier in my province that carries esee. however that doesnt give me the chance to hold the knife in my hand before i buy it, which i really want to do.
i have smaller hands, which sucks. knifes like cold steel srk or benchmade csk the handles are kinda big. my concern is that if i put up the money (which for a uni. student is a bit) i might get it in the mail and be unhappy with the feel.

so my point, are there any blades that people can think of where the handle is a simillar size/shape that i could actually go physicaly hold for a comparison. my hand size fits a sog seal pup well, or a fixed griptilian, if any of that helps.
i was thinking like a rat 4/5/6 something like that.

thanks in advance!!!

if the SRK is too big for comfort, the 5 & 6 likely will be, too.
you should be fine with the ESEE4, though.

5 is a monster. my 110 pound girlfriend wants an RC6. They're well designed, and if you dont like, em...they sell easy

I have most of them, I'm located in Vancouver and can meet up perhaps... or just wait till warriors and wonders gets their shipment in at their store..

If the SRK is too big in the hand, the RC-5 will not be unlike wielding a sharpened car door. The SRK handle is 3 3/4" around at the widest point. The RC-4 is 3 1/2" at the widest point, and it's flatter and more ergonomically shaped. The RC-5 handle is 4 1/8" at its widest point. I wish I had a -6 for comparison purposes (yeah...for comparison purposes...), but I hope that helps.

VERY helpful guys thanks alot!!

very cold steel, thanks a ton for those pics, i think ill probably be going with the rc 4 if i do it,

and blacks 95 i didnt know warriors and wonders planned on getting esee knives, if so ill hold off on an online order until they have it. great store.

If you are tight on money I would go for a knife that can do it all, the extremely well balanced and capable rc-6. It is the finest all around knife. You can do things that a 7 inch blade can do or strangle the choil and do 5 inch blade work. KNIFEABILITY-a must for all humans

Apart from ESEE blades, all of my knives are customs. However, the one thing I can add is that I bought a few clothing items from the On-liner supplier you are referring to, Workwear Canada, and the proprietor is straight up and great to deal with. He ships really quick. Try calling him on the phone. He is really personable and I'm sure he can help you out.

Yeah, just wait for Warriors and Wonders to get em in stock. Should be soon. I also have quite small hands, too small for my RC-6 honestly... so I wouldn't recommend getting one of those if handle comfort is a big thing for you.

I have used an RC-4, however, and the handle on it is significantly smaller. It's a perfect fit for my hand, much more comfortable than the RC-6. I tried to get the owner of that blade to trade RATs with me and he would have none of it! :p

Yeah they're supposed to have them in fairly soon from what I believe... I personally buy all my knives online and save a fair amount of money but It is nice to be able to handle them before you buy.. One thing that I can assure u is the 3 up to the 5's will suit your needs fairly well.. the only thing that I could see that is an issue would be the 5-6 handles being a bit big if you have small hands.. but thats nothing a pair of gloves or a Dremel can't fix.. Also sometimes its personal preference.. as I love my BUSSE SAR-5 but others think the handles are too thick or bulkey

The first and second pic really shows the size difference between the RC4 and RC-5. I'm glad I ordered the RC-4; I've already got a couple big knives, don't need more.

Well, maybe I need a couple more.... :)
