Hi Fellas-

Just wanted to post this little utility.

Forged 1084, fully hardened
416 ss guard
stabilized black ash burl from Mike Ludeman (W.S.S.I.)
9/10 oz sheath (handstitched by me, this was my first one)

In the picture, it looks a little slender in the blade...but I don't think it looks that way in hand.

Comments?

Thanks!
Nick

Nick,
Your work always looks so professional, clean and beautifully designed. Can I ask what temp you use to temper your 1084? I have some coming and want to make a few test blades.

Thanks Guys-

Dan, this blade was austentized at 1485 (salt) and quenched in oil at 150 degrees. Tempered three times at 410 this knife read at 60 C on the flats.

I took its twin and bent it to 85 degrees with a 3' cheater pipe before it broke. The edge hardened ones will bend back and forth a few times before breaking.

At this point I am just in love with 52100, 1084, and 1095.

I should have some pics soon of some different styles...thanks guys! :)
