What is the most basic model of G-Shock?

I don't need all the memory and functions, I just want a watch that can stand up to abuse and tell me the time and date. I'd also like the nightlight(Indiglo type) function.

I don't think this is the MOST basic (it has 2 time zones, a small phone book, and an alarm and stopwatch), but I recently picked up a DW-9050 at Costco for $40......Canadian! Can't beat that!
 
If you live anywhere close to a Walmart, take a trip down there and see what they have. The Walmart near where I live must carry 100 different Casio G-Shocks, including some very basic models for around $25.
 
Mine is a model DW003S. Called the surf watch, it is pretty basic.

Stopwatch, alarm,countdown timer, glows on demaand or with wrist tilt.

I love it. Also, has a face protection cage like the Baby-G line.
 
The DW-5600E-IV is the G Shock, the original type. Basic features: 12/24 hr Time; Day and Date; Alarm; Countdown Timer; Stopwatch; and Indiglo.

You can find it at this online outfit for $49. That's where I got mine and it's great. It's the third G Shock I've owned. The first lasted until I finally ripped the band out of the watch and damaged the mounting holes for the pins so that they couldn't be replaced. The second I still have and it works fine, and this one I got just because I wanted a new toy.

Not convenient as the page is written in Japanese, here is new DW-5600 with "tough solar" battery. Same simple design, and the battery stands at least 2 years if there's no light to supply power. If there's enough light, it's a virtually infinite working G-shock!
 
any body live near Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe? They
have a Casio Outlet Store that sells various discontinued
models very cheap...you can pick up last years top of
the line for $40.:p
 
I will be ordering one of the G-5600 "tough solar" models as a replacement for my current beater G-shock. I like the idea of a watch that will last forever. I also like the features.
