Here's another commissioned piece. I've been getting orders for a lot of these lately. This is my standard 'Green Canyon Hunter' model. This is, to my mind, a great all around size and shape for a hunting knife.

Specs:

1095 steel, clay quenched
8 1/4" overall, 3 1/2" sharp, .120" thick
Stabilized maple burl scales
Nickel silver pins

This does have a filed thumb grip and contoured scales that I didn't get a picture of.

Hello John. Nice knife. I agree, very good over all design to stay with as functional. Got a question. When you do the clay- hamon effect on the blade, does this ‘line’ shadow stay and last long or does it wear out over time, like after it stains and a repolish is done.

I get this effect sometimes when I torch heat treat the edge only, and assume this is what the clay does, creates a temperature pattern . I end up sanding it out while doing my other work to the blade and it does not seem to come back when I acid etch later.
Possibly the effect I get is not the same, so curious about your experiences with this. Thanks. Miles

Another nice one John!
