Hi All. I posted this on the Custom forum and thought I'd try here. I'm trying to find a maker who would make a Micarta slab(s), no steel liners, simple folder. With a 3.3 or 3.5" blade. So, we have, two handle slabs, blade and blade-stop. Any Ideas? Thanks.

Get one of the Al Mar Ultra-lites.They are exactly what you just described. Ive carried them in two of the three sizes they come in. Tough, light and easy to carry-KV

Or the A.G. Russell Brute. It was just reviewed on the forums... look around. Or, just search the A.G. Russell website.

I have an Al Mar Eagle Talon Ultralight that is what you just described without the cost of a custom. It's very well made and scary sharp out of the box. I hardly know its there when I'm carrying it, which is all the time since I got it.

I'll vote for the A. G. Russell Brute, as well. Great knife, for the money. Light, and large. Strong, as well.

May be expensive, but I think Dozier makes a folder without liners. I may be wrong, though.

Yes, but the Dozier is available at a much higher price point. I say try the Brute. I think you still get ALOT of knife for the money!

Thanks, everyone! I'm going to do some shopping. I need ONE more knife.

i've got an Al Mar Falcon Ultralight....I like this knife plenty except for one gripe: since the pocket clip can be mounted on either side, the micarta slab that is left "clipless" or bare will have a rather "unattractive" mounting hole which is imho rather unsightly.... I called Al Mar to see if their was a way to "cover up" the hole with an additional screw or plate but there was no such option..... other than this gripe I like the knife for "office carry" loose in pocket....the steel is Aus8 btw.... sorry can't locate it right now for pix, but i suggest you personally eyeball them before purchase (if you're interested).

Thanks All. I think I found a maker who is going to put this knife design together. I will post the end result, the knife!

MMM---Actually, the maker contacted me, which was very nice, to see my drawing, that I did send him. "Striper." I hope he thinks about doing it.
