Opinel #9. Sanded, stained, polished. Blade angle altered and slight altering to handle contours. A very quick and simple tinkering.

A gift for an old friend.

Very cool work. How did you cut the indentations? I'll bet your friend will love it. There's nothing like a freshly honed Opinel blade. I use one in the kitchen every day. That blade angle is frightening.

Just did it with a Dremel and small ball rotary burr. The knife now has a burnt finish with lanyard hole and beaded lanyard. Turns out my friend likes the 'old' look. Fine with me, that's what I prefer also.
 
Nice. To keep it from binding, I melted in some hard floor wax into the groove and pivot of my #8.
