started with the howler sheath, and when gundy mentioned him doing it on the battle rat, i thought, why not do the battle mistress as well?

so, here ya go, my modded battle mistress sheath. making it high ride lets it rest more firmly against the body, so that you dont need to use the tie down grommets at the bottom. if you do want to tie it down though, with the paracord running down the length of the back, you can choose where you want the strap to be on your leg, insttead of only being able to do it above the knee.

it also places the handle away from the sheath fabric, so that when you grab it, you dont have to lift the knife away from your body to grip it.

*thats a terrible pose i know  ... i just dont want to redo the picture*

and the opposite - a modified leatherman sheath for an active duty, from horizontal to vertical carry, and then from normal high ride to low ride, with a hammer loop tie down  (seatbelt belt loop is normally secured to the bottom of the sheath, and belt inserted at handle to knife level)

but it is unfortunately unmodifyable on an easy level to make it a left handed carry sheath... there are things i could do, but it basically comes down to me getting or making a new sheath... its also a little loose because im not actually using an active duty in it, im using one that has metal taken off, enough so that it rattles a bit...

so, that kydex i have will be earning its keep :D.

this cary mode was an unintended benefit of how it worked out, as well as the other carry modes it allows (with another stitch to make it 3 loops instead of 1 small, 1 large. the stitching was coming undone in the center (it wasnt meant to hold weight, just to keep the straps together) so i just took it out))

-the other carry modes available -

Very Cool,
Be careful though, you keep this up you may cost custom Sheath makers money :)

fair enough... this is kind of meant to be a "until you can afford/get something better" mod, and for those who feel they cant be without their knives for more then 6 hours at a time *me :)*.

i certainly dont want to take money away from custom sheath makers... but then again, i do want to learn how to do it myself :D:D:D
