Simple question: CBN vs. Diamond rods

Hi everybody, this is my first post on the Spyderco forums. I have decided to buy something coarser for my Sharpmaker, but I don´t know which one of these two to get. I have researched a lot, in here and on the Spyderco official forums, but the information I get is aways less than conclusive. Cliff Stamp made a lot of observations on the CBN rods, but his findings were not that helpful. I am mainly concerned about two aspects:

1. Which rods, CBN or Diamond, are more aggressive?
2. Which one lasts longer?

Does anyone have any factual information about this? Baseless opinions are welcome too :).

My baseless opinion is that the two are supposed to be about equal.

Pick a set and get to work.

What Razzle said.

I've heard that Diamond is technically harder, but in practice you'll never be able to tell the difference. Same goes for life expectancy; just be gentle, otherwise you'll dislodge the Diamond/CBN particles.

I have the CBN myself and find it works really well. :D

If you have read Cliff Stamp's thoughts that is about all there is. They are both around 400 grit and both will be ruined by exessive pressure removing the media from the bonding agent holding them to the rod.

A German rep and seller of Spyderco equipment informed me that the CBN rods were developed to replace the diamond rods because these tended to loose particles / prone to fall off, if to much pressure was applied by the user.
The CBN rods are, as he explained, much more resistant to wearing of.
