Simple solutions to fix Broken Knife tip

What do you have for tools? Power tools would be fast, and a good fix without them will be slow.

I ask in part because it's a knife easily available for $15, so really if it was mine the time and effort wouldn't be worth fixing it over buying another, and it'll certainly be cheaper than buying even like the cheapest belt sander from a place like Harbor Freight (heck a 4-pack of one grit of 3m sandpaper at Home Depot is half that price).

I'd agree on scrapping it. The amount of material you would have to remove will be excessive.

Looks like the handle got chewed on by the dog?

It's now a large flathead screwdriver with a two sided blade. They're cheap so just get another one. It's still usable, just not for anything stabby. Here's a link from who I think is a supporting member (if not please remove it) with your knife if you want another.

With some heavy grinding, you might get a square tip dive knife!?
But next time, lock picks or front kicks!!
Or I dunno a key cutter?

Yeah I guess I didn't really consider the Value of the knife being A lot less than the cost it would be to fix the blade . I appreciate y'all's Comments on it. I'll probably just trash the entire thing, bc I doubt I'll find use for any of what's left of it. . I was really just wondering what all it would take to put a tip back on a blade that was Chipped

My first thought was to just refine & shape the squared-off tip for designated use a pry/screwdriver tool or a chisel-like scraper - or the oyster knife idea is clever too. Since it had already been used as such, it could be made somewhat more useful in that capacity alone. As mentioned, for a relatively inexpensive knife, maybe just replacing it is the more practical avenue.

I agree with some of the others, square the end and put a chisel grind on it. Demo knife.

Looks like a sharp screwdriver multitool now. Could have some uses around the house. Scraper edge, cutting edge, pry/screw tip. There's still life left in it, but probably not as a dagger.

Frame it and hang it up on a wall as a reminder to your daughter to NEVER touch your knives without your permission. 😉
