I don't intend on this getting into a flame war of any type, but who are the current go-to knife makers for tough, ugly (subjective, I know), utilitarian, relatively inexpensive blades like Newt was turning out a few years ago? The limited searches I've done on here have not turned up much in the way of makers still currently active.
