I just want an OTF that doesn't require a funky screwdriver.
I'd love to see an S/A front opener from Benchmade. I feel that with Benchmade D/A front openers you don't quite get as much value for your money as you do with Microtech. The Combat Troodon for example has a comparable weight, blade length and price to the fullsize Infidel but uses Elmax steel instead of D2, has better ergonomics, has a wider & thicker blade, and is offered with much more selection of blade finishes & types and handle colorations. Same story with the Pagan - I could get an Executive Scarab for the same price..
If Benchmade released an affordable S/A front opener with a manageable length and weight, on the other hand, it could be a big contender to the Halo series knives which by and large are not the most friendly for daily carry.
However, considering they have gone so far as to make all their framelocks carry tip-down, I doubt they would make an S/A front opener without a safety. And I feel that having a safety on an S/A front opener defeats the purpose of having an S/A front opener.
