Just returned home with a Singer 29-4 Treadle-powered sewing machine. I had been looking for a leather-capable non-electric maching for several years. Then, two weeks ago, I found one at an indoor antiques mall; they took a deposit to hold it until I returned today. It needs a belt and a wipe down, but otherwise seems to be just fine. The Singer Company website provided all the instructions I'll need.
I'm very, very psyched.
Once I get it cleaned and have stitched a bit, I'll post some pix.
