I'm looking for a single bladed Barlow with overall length of 3 to 3 1/4 inches. I want to carry it in my watch pocket. Would prefer something like a clip or spear point blade. I see the GEC 14 Barlow would fit the bill but they are a little pricey and hard to find. It would be a user so I'd like something built well. I've searched but can't really find a knife to fit those parameters. Do you have any suggestions?

There was a Hen & Rooster small Barlow made when A.G. Russell owned the company but if I remember correctly those are a little pricey too. I can't remember what it was called. It sure was a sweet little knife though and would probably appeal to you. Not much help here, I know.

War Eagle makes one that comes in just a hair longer at 3 3/8 inches closed.

If you can find one;

GEC #25 barlows tend to be less pricey than the TC #14s and come in at 3 inches closed exactly, but a bit stouter/sturdier.

Can be found in clip, spear or sheepfoot. Also available in rare wharncliffe and even rarer drop point blades, but I don't have one to photograph I'm afraid.

The canal street Barlow has two blades, but it's close to your desired size at 3 3/8". Then there's the canal street boys knife which is single blade. It's 3 1/4" and prettY available. Both use stainless steel.
I would think about going with the single blade #14 boys knife. Same knife, just a shorter bolster, and they're going to be a lot easier to track down.

While a little bit bigger at 3 1/2", the Robeson single blade Barlow is very slim and coin pocket friendly. Mine is actually in my coin pocket now. They are available in the $60 range, which while not cheap is about 1/3 the price of the equivalent GEC 14 on the secondary market. I can post a comparison shot of the 14 (non-barlow, single blade) and the Robeson when I get home from work, if you would like.

The 2 7/8" Rough Rider Single Clip Barlow is model number RR740. It is less than $10. I have a 2 blade 3 3/8" RR Barlow (Thanks, Alan!) that is really a swell little knife; I'm sure the smaller single blade would be just as nice.

A.G. Russell makes a nice Zulu Spear Point Barlow in black Rucarta, yellow Delrin and Cocobolo for a very reasonable price. I really like mine. Fits well in a watch pocket.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll be looking these up.

As shown earlier, the RR Mini Barlow is a little bit smaller than the GEC 14. It's a very nice inexpensive item. The Schatt 'Barlow' is even smaller, I regard it as a Tadpole rather than Barlow though.

Some of them are lockback too!
